Claude for accounting offices, with client data replaced
Employees' names, PESEL numbers, addresses and bank accounts in your payroll and invoice work reach Anthropic as consistent stand-ins, and come back restored.
Your role
Keeping a client's books or payroll, you usually process its employees' and contractors' data on the client's behalf, as a processor under GDPR art. 28. Art. 28(2) lets a processor engage another processor only with the controller's prior written authorisation.
What bareminimum does about it
- PESEL, NIP, NRB and IBAN numbers keep their format and check digits, so Claude can still match and check them.
- Names and addresses are replaced consistently, so one employee is one person across a conversation.
- Spreadsheets and PDFs are refused, not read: paste the rows you need as text.
What stays yours
- Replacing data first reduces what a chain of providers carries; whether your clients' authorisation is still needed is your assessment.
- Amounts, company names and job titles reach Anthropic as written.
