Claude for legal counsel, with client data replaced

Parties' names, addresses, PESEL, KRS and account numbers in your drafts reach Anthropic as consistent stand-ins, and come back restored, declined as you wrote them.

Your duty

Art. 3(3) of the Act on legal counsel (ustawa o radcach prawnych) obliges you to keep secret everything you learn while providing legal assistance. KIRP's recommendations on AI address professional secrecy, data protection and responsibility for content AI generates.

What bareminimum does about it

  • People, addresses and identifiers are found and replaced before a request leaves, in every message and tool call Claude Desktop or Claude Code sends.
  • The same person gets the same stand-in across your conversations, so a matter stays coherent for Claude.
  • Anything the gateway cannot read, such as an attachment, is refused rather than forwarded.

What stays yours

  • The facts of a case reach Anthropic as written and can still point to a client.
  • Company names and courts are not replaced.
  • Whether this safeguard is enough for a given matter is your judgment under your rules.
